Why You Should Work with a Family Travel Advisor

As a parent who has planned countless family vacations, both professionally as a Family Travel Advisor and personally with my own children, I've learned that family travel requires strategic expertise. It's about creating experiences that engage everyone while anticipating the unique needs that come with traveling as a family.

When I first started traveling with my children, I quickly discovered how different family travel is from solo or couple adventures. Now, with experience both as a mom and a Travel Advisor, I will transform your family vacation from potentially stressful to genuinely enjoyable.

Experience That Makes a Difference

As a Family Travel Advisor, I do more than just book hotels and activities—I think about the real-life details that make your trip stress-free. From which resorts truly deliver on their family-friendly promises, understanding how to structure your days to maintain everyone's energy and interest to making sure you know where the nearest grocery store is (because snacks = sanity 🙃), I help families travel with ease. Even the logistics, like how far your hotel is from the airport, are covered—so you can focus on the fun, not the “are we there yet?” moments. I can tell you with confidence which transfer times are realistic with children, where to find convenient meal options that satisfy diverse preferences, and which attractions are worth your time based on your children's ages and interests.

Planning with Your Family in Mind

When we work together, I create travel experiences tailored specifically to your family's unique needs:

  • I recommend destinations that match your children's developmental stages and interests

  • I plan itineraries with appropriate pacing, building in necessary downtime

  • I select accommodations positioned near the attractions you'll visit most frequently as well as book rooms that give you the space your family may need

  • I identify family-friendly dining options that balance convenience with quality

  • I suggest activities that educate and entertain children while still engaging adults

I understand that a successful family vacation requires thoughtful planning that accounts for everyone's needs—including parents who deserve their own moments of enjoyment.

Beyond the Obvious Destinations

The advantage of working with someone who regularly travels with children is access to knowledge that goes beyond the standard family destinations. I can introduce you to lesser-known destinations where your family can have authentic cultural experiences suited to your children's ages and maybe even get you out of your comfort zone.

Whether it's recommending the most walkable European cities for families, connecting you with a great tour guide who are not only experts in their destinations but also fantastic with kids, identifying which museums offer engaging children's programs, or knowing which beaches provide the amenities families need, my recommendations come from firsthand experience and relationships I’ve formed.

Services

Every family (and every trip!) is unique—which is why there isn’t just one way to work with me. Whether you simply need help booking a hotel with added perks, want curated recommendations, or prefer full-service planning from start to finish, you can choose the level of support that works best for you.

When it comes to my services, I keep things simple and transparent.

Hotel bookings are always complimentary—whether you already know where you’d like to stay (I’ll handle the booking and add VIP perks!) or if you’ve booked on your own and want me to see if I can enhance your reservation with added benefits.

For flight bookings, I charge a $100 ticketing fee per person.

If you’d like curated hotel recommendations for a particular place(s), I provide three tailored options per destination for a $350 planning fee and will then connect you with the concierge. If you decide you want me to book daily activities I can do that for $85 per day.

For families or groups looking for end-to-end support, I offer full-service planning which starts at $600 for up to 4 travelers—covering everything from accommodation bookings, dining and activities to logistics, so you can enjoy a seamless, stress-free trip. This type of trip I will be working with a DMC (Destination Management Company). A DMC is a local expert based in your destination who provides on-the-ground knowledge, access, and support that you simply can’t find through online research alone. These local partners know the best guides, hidden gems, and cultural nuances that turn a good trip into an unforgettable journey.

Before your trip you will get a customized itinerary with all of the bookings we have made. You will download it and have it at your fingertips while away enjoying your trip.

I’d love to talk through these services with you to figure out the best service for you.

Let's Create Meaningful Family Experiences

Family travel isn't just about entertainment—it's about creating formative experiences that will shape your children's understanding of the world. As your travel advisor, I'm committed to helping you design journeys that are not only logistically smooth but also rich with opportunities for connection and discovery.

When you're ready to plan your next family adventure—whether it's exploring a new city or embarking on an international journey—I'd be honored to put my experience as both an advisor and a traveling mom to work for you.
